Mount Charleston Peak - South Loop
August 16, 2008 |
| |
This is the most popular route for ascending the Mt. Charleston Peak. It takes most of its elevation gain at the beginning, followed by a relatively flat stroll through alpine meadows to the peak. Over half of the trail is above 10,000 ft., and there are spectacular views along the way.
The trail is 8.3 miles one-way, with an elevation gain of about 4,300 ft -- from 7,600' to 11,918'. Although the trail itself is excellent, the elevation gain, length and high altitude make it very challenging for most hikers.

Heat Wave Adventure Race Series
October 4, 2008 |
| |
Adventure racing: A rather loose definition might be "a multi-discipline, non-stop team race, through the back country".
Each "Heat Wave" race features a 10-20 mile mountain bike course, 5-10 mile trail run, 5-15 mile kayaking course, and 3-4 "mystery challenges."
Team must stay together the entire race or face DQ.
Remember: In adventure Racing, it's about we, not about me...

Las Vegas Full or Half Marathon
December 7, 2008 |
| |
The Las Vegas marathon starts and finishes at the Mandalay Bay. The course makes its way down Las Vegas Blvd. and heads all the way to downtown and through the Fremont Street Experience. The course is mostly a flat loop: 26.2 miles for the full marathon or 13.1 miles for the half marathon. Come and challenge yourself. This is a great run/walk with loads of community support along the way and bands and entertainers too. DON’T MISS THIS ONE.
